Thread: Northern Ruahine hunt.

Hey chaps just got home from 3 days on the tops,
Trip was cut short due to weather
Epic trip, we bumped into lots of deer out in the open, stags weren't roaring on there own but where firing up when provoked.
One of our crew had to get flown out on day 2 with serious stomach issues, it's good to no those plb we carry around do actually work.
The deer where very quiet can't of seen many people one hind and fawn stood watching us at 300 yards for about 15 minutes as we talked loudly and stood on the skyline, she was standing in the same place as we headed off.
All deer seen where in fantastic condition,
One of our crew took a 8 point stag nothing amazing but a trophy two him,
The rest where just shot on camera.
The trip was made awesome buy the great company of some forum members.

I remember the first time I spotted a single game trail across a scree in google earth in my region, dam near did something in my pants.

Was Most def the best trip we have had so far.

Tenting on the tops next to a tarn was pure magic, Great company as always and a great time.
Some good roaring like i have never herd before, The moon country is so awesum.
