    Nosler Performance

    Hi.
Well this thread could actually go in a few different pages, but I thought I'd put it here.
Last week I headed bush to find a deer... I found one.. And the video is below.

    https://youtu.be/-CRqcinbXMY

However the main reason I put up this thread is when butchering the animal today I found the projectile. So I just use a common as muck 150gn Nosler Ballistic Tips in my. 284.. This bullet went in a bit far back as you'll see.. And went through the vitals and the off shoulder. I found it under the skin at the front of the off shoulder under the skin. So yeah.. I thought some would be curious to see it projectiles performance.

Nice. That's exactly what I use in my 7x57. Hasn't let me down yet.

    150g 30 cal NBT

The Nosler BT have a nice solid copper boat tail which helps with penetration

I've been using 150 BTs out of my .308 for the last couple of years. More than happy with both accuracy and terminal performance on reds and fallow.

How do you think they would go at 30/30 velocities??

Good bullets. The 140gn BT kill extremely well in my 708. Have recovered a few as well from the animal.

Just got a box of 140gn Accubonds to try out in for the 6.5 cm.
Been using fed fusions off the shelf ammo and it is shite.
they seem to in and out on reds fallow and goats. The only one that didnt and i recovered was from a red stag at 120m. It was in about 5 pieces.
All other animals seem to go straight through,

Looking forward to try these out on some animals. With the range closed here atm is hard to get any data worked up.

AB's are fairly hard, you might get a few pencil through at CM velocity unless you hit bone.

You maybe better off with the LRAB which are designed to kill at low speeds.
The 140AB maybe a bit hard at CM speed.

You're lucky to have recovered them... mine always seem to splinter into a hundred pieces. Shot a stag this weekend just gone and while he didn't take a single step, I couldn't find any part of the pill. I know it entered front right and travelled aft to the back left, but I couldn't find any part of it. It made jelly out of the insides though. What a mess.

Had what i would call a failure many years back with the 150 gr BT before they beefed the jackets up. Have used various Noslar bullets since and all have worked well. The 180 gr BT in the 300 WM and 30 06 are fine performers on game.
