Thread: Old Huts Gone from the Land

Greetings All,
You won't find a hut of this name on the Kaweka maps. GPM relaxing on the verandah about 20 years ago. Choppered in and walked out via Ballard and Makino Huts.

Aah, VT, home away from home.
I remember when there used to be a big rubbish pit dug south of the hut.
Before the pack it in, pack it out days.

A chocolate fish is in the mail. Venison Top Hut or Tira Lodge on the map but Kelvinator Lodge is apt if you have been their in the winter. Lots and lots of deer bones in the gulley heads on the Ngaruroro side, must have been a hot spot.
