    Ouch!

Neck shot last night with my 300saum. 254 yards. It didn't flinch. Ouch.

Dog had winded it from down the gully so I cut around to the top and spotted it laying down out from the bush edge.

Home late again but worth it.

The best freezer filler - home late? If you didn't like it, you would be buying your protein from the local supermarket or butcher (where no animals were harmed by the way....)

What have you been doing with that rifle? Hammering in waratahs with the stock?

Well done, your freezer must be full by now or have you got multiple freezers. Great seeing someone knocking them over. I started off slowly and wondered if I would ever get one, now I have shot a few and have found I can't eat them fast enough and the freezer is filling up. I love hunting them so much that I don't want to stop just because I can't eat them all so I will have to start giving them away. I guess you are having the same problem as you seem to be getting quite a few, once again good on you Tahr

@7mm Rem Mag I shoot about a dozen or so a year. It will be a few more this year, maybe 15. We eat a lot and some is processed. Quite a bit disappears to relatives and friends, both fresh and frozen. Lately I've been making venison bacon and that uses up quite a bit.

Made the same way as normal bacon. Best with a fat deer like fallow or a late summer red. Belly cut doesn't usually have enough fat imo but backsteak works well.
