Well done
@top of the south a lot of the coastal stations (except for where there is guiding going on) get an annual helicopter cull nowadays. 50 were taken off this place during the winter - but they filter back in pretty quickly. There's so much forestry now to hold them, and scrub being allowed to revert for honey income. It all means more habitat. Us hunters need to help to keep the population under control. Its a crazy world - for periods in the 60's &70's you could hardly find a deer.
Isn,t spring a great time of the year for those of us that know how to embrace it
Its a dirty job Bruce, but someone has to do it
Great read and awesome pics! Thanks for taking the time
There seems to be quite a few everywhere st the moment
Well done Brian and Bruce, you guys are doing well still hunting.Have a great xmas and Newyear.
@Trout its getting harder. Merry Christmas to you and your family too.
Thanks,ye its getting harder carring venison to truck.I shoot a couple of biggish yearlings out across a stream in a river bed 2 weeks ago.Couldnt get the truck to them.Had to carry 4 hind legs and back steaks 800yds to the nissen. Each leg weighted about 8kgs,i put 2 in the pack and one in each hand, walked about 30 mtrs and I thort bugger this,so I carried 2 at a time about 40 mtrs and went back got the other two.Took me till about mid night to get to the truck from sunset.i was stuffed. When you on the pension, those hind legs get bloody heavy.lols
Your getting a good run from that Nissan Trout
Yes the 4.2TdI still ticking over, just turned over 497000ks yesterday.Runs sweet, doesnt burns oil, quiet smooth motor. The old green beast just keeps on going after having it 15yrs.
Yr Nissan should be okay,4.2 engine pretty hard to destroy.
