Rehab Hunt
After a back injury 6 months ago at work, I finally got to go out on a hunt with a pack on my back. Man it was good to get back in the bush and the dog was happy too.
Seen a few deer and dropped a nice tasty yearling hind. The next day looking for a pig but no luck with that so bombed up goats instead. The back was getting a little soar so pulled the pin on the trip and went home early with a pack full of boned out veni and kid back steaks.
Can't wait to get my back to full strength so I can do some descent trips.
Sig with his yearly hind.

A through and through with a 194gr Lehigh ME subsonic. This is the second deer that I have body shot with this projectile and works a treat in the 300 Blackout. The hind was shot at 40m and only travelled 45m with a really good blood trial to track.

Lots of goats got taken out this trip.

Good for you.
I know how you feel. I spent last weekend in the St James area as my first multi day trip after 6 months off work from a hunting accident in South Westland.
Feels great to be back out there doesn't it.
Im still in the gym 4 times a week ( and working 2 days a week on light duties ) ... but there is nothing like actually being out there for getting fit.
I bet the dog enjoyed it as much as you did !! My GWP was a great motivation to get up and about and start walking again even if it was only to the letter box which is 700m from the house.
Keep it up mate.

I was back in the hills for the first time after surgery last weekend also. Not really hunting as such but took the rifle for a walk. Good weather, sleeping under a fly, awesome to be back out there.

Good stuff, Sig is a great looking dog. I'm keen on the Visla's too.
