    @Steelisreal That's a Schultz&Larsen 6.5x55. 140 amax, 170 yds. Poll axed.

    I hope it’s not retirement from posting hunting yarns and photos but retirement from work so you can post more.

    Did the 6.5 pass through completely or did you find it expanded on the outer skin?

    @Tahr

    How are you finding those MSR tents for size and ease of use?
    I have the dilemma heat vs sleep.

    My current tent is dark green. With the midnight sun, it dims the light enough to sleep ok.Part of my problem is the temperature, I need to be in a proper bag due frost or close to, but as soon as the sun catches the tent I'll be swimming in sweat.
    I'm beginning to think I might want a light coloured tent and sadly it needs to be expedition grade due the winds we have (cheap stuff just get ripped/torn from lines tugging). I get very limited stamina when I don't sleep properly.

    @Norway I like it for ease of use and lightness but I wouldn't rate it as a 4 season tent - more like 3 season. I find it warm and comfortable albeit a bit snug. But for just me anywhere except the exposed tops I rate it as being very good. I can get my pack and rifle out of the WX into the vestibule and in the main tent I can sit up and turn comfortably with room for my overnight stuff and boots etc.

    Thanks! I have been using a tarp lately as the kids occupy the tent, but up north tarps offer very little comfort. They're good for a cup of coffee, but not sleep. Do you have a tent you'd rate for the tops?

    It went right through. High shoulder shot just under the spine. A few inches higher than where I expected but it was a steep down hill spot. Mostly the 6.5 Amax do pass through.
