Thread: Skiing with rifle, weather resistance.

Here's another film which is nothing but a different perspective to you.

But the clothing layering principles are the same for those of you that hunt the winter season. And perhaps haven't understood the value of a foam pad + bivvy/mountain bag.

Nice description on the layers. How do you take a dump with the onesie base layer? The mountain shelter looks like a good idea if you got stuck out in bad weather.

I noticed you have Heterochromia iridum. Does that affect your vision at all?

Those birds must be super hard to spot in that environment.
Are you basically sitting and waiting to see movement in order to spot them?

Your a tough bastard Norway, I would be heading home when you were heading out!

That mountain shelter is a great bit of gear, would be a life saver if you were caught out.

After another long spell of "Access Forbidden" error message, I'm finally back to reply., IF anyone knows why this happens, please do tell. It's the only forum it happens to.

Thanks! It's a neat trick to keep my kids off the channel. They are beyond embarrassed and would NOT like their friends to see. Suits me fine, no guntalk between parents at social events.

No. Be up at first light and they can be quite active vocal, you'll hear them. If they are quiet, you just have to ski into likely locations which is anywhere windswept as they do not eat snow.

The threshold for "storm" classification (in terms of civil services upgrading their alert level" is actually higher up north than down south simply because we have so much poor weather and society at large is more used to it.

i have used this very bag on New Zealand and spent the night in it as I was not willing to cross a river at night as I could not see the other side. When light came it was easy-peasy, in the dark I had no clue of actual risk and played it safe. That was coming down after shooting my first ever thar.

I just about gave up on the forum with that "access forbidden" thing. If I remember rightly I just logged out and back in again and haven't had an issue since.

That looks like a Godforsaken environment, too harsh for this kid.

It’s cool to see you carrying on with your day to day in conditions that would be considered life threatening to the average person from more temperate climates. Not only just carry, but thrive.

In a former life, I was amazed how much complexity proper cold brings to carrying out a given task, be it work or recreation.
Simply working in gloves and mittens, the lost dexterity was such a huge adjustment. Not to mention how limited in function or durability certain items can have at extreme cold.

I never tire of the landscapes in your videos.
