Went down to Tongariro National Park for a quick overnighter with the boy. Was hoping for a stag but didn't see any. Saw 5 Deer last night all Hinds, Yearlings and Fawns.
Got up early this morning and had a wander over to a new spot. Stopping and glassing.
Just got up ready to carry on and there was a hind 70 yards away. No need for binos. ha ha.
It was Oliver's turn for the shot and he did well. She dropped on the spot. 70 yards off hand. Not bad shooting for a 12 year old. I missed the fawn a couple of times before I managed to drop that too. Smaller target though aye.
Got them broken down and then back to camp and then on to the truck. Attachment 216645

Yeah . He carried his share
He's taller than me now 175 cm.
He will be a big unit in a few years.
He's only going to get Fitter and stronger.
I'm older and slower.
