    Solo Summer Tahr Trip

Headed out to one of my favourite areas for a 5 day solo mission around the Tekapo area. Had the time of my life, perfect weather with plenty of animals seen. Managed to bag an 11.5" bull, was hoping it would go 12 but thats all good! It is my first, I shot a 10" also. I am planning on creating a trophy wall starting from 10" and seeing the difference from small up to as big as I can get...

This will sound like total BS, but highlight of the trip was climbing up to the very tops and stalking within 10 metres of a mob of bulls, I was hidden in the tussock. They had absolutely no idea, I could have thrown a rock at them. I stood up and had a mexican standoff with them whislting at me, it was a seriously awesome experience.

I camped at an area about 5/6 hours walk in, pretty remote. I had the entire valley to myself, I only came across one person at the start of the walkin.

Here's a snippet of the trip

Well done, judging tahr is bloody hard and requires lots of practice. 1/2" is pretty hard to estimate.
