    Some bush sneaking

Two weekends ago I got out for a hunt in the bush with my Sako 243 but unfortunately luck wasn’t on my side. I think it was because I didn’t follow my pie and coffee tradition on the way to our hunting spot. Fool. Anyways this weekend just been I snuck out again but this time armed with my new Tikka 260 after having just finished a load for it on the Friday. The video should tell the rest.

    Cheers

Cool hunt, that 260 looks to be a nice rifle, what barrel length are you running ? You earn your venison in that country.

@Mooseman thanks mate, barrel is 19”
@Kelton yea mate got a good look at it when it moved through the bush and also had a good view as it was walking away, just not a good shot opportunity!

I like the size of that hardy can. Is it enough to just stop ear damage, which is all that I want for a 270 ?

Great video mate. The new rifle looks nice, mine might ‘need’ a fluting job now! The good old (and new) 6.5 certainly bridges the gap between a 100 grain .243 projectiles and the 150 + grain projectiles of the 7mm and .308 calibers. I used one 30 years ago and it’s cool to see them back in fashion again.
I’m sure you’ll get another .284 again, in the mean time I’ve got a spare one here if you start to miss it too much! 👍

Hey mate, it is definitely a nice size and weight with minimum length forward of the muzzle being the compact model. I am not 100 percent sold on it yet though to be honest in terms of noise reduction as my initial thoughts feel like its a bit harder on my ears then what I am used to with my DPTs. I am going to run it for a wee bit longer to be a better judge of what I think before fully deciding though. If I am not happy I will be switching back to a DPT Mk2 of the same size/weight.

I am just looking for something to stop the blast / pressure wave. Normally not a problem with standing shots but I did notice a whack in the ear on Sunday with the barrel poked over a bush, that seemed to direct the blast back
