    Some of my 2013

I have misplaced my hunting camera and lost a few pics

But here are some from the phone and wife's camera

Before the kids sport kicks in we do a few family hunts, I don't normally hunt my dogs in the extreme heat so these hunts are all about getting the dogs running again

I try and keep them short and fun, a slow day on the hill bores the young ones
So we pack lots snacks and look forward to our smoko breaks

    Were getting bored dad

Well this lazy driving hunting is not working so lets try some walking hunting

    This is cool says Sam
He even has his own knife, I was in the bush grabbing a pig so he was keeping mum safe

Yay we finally caught a pig

Most hunts ended like this... happy wife

Had a play with my trap, at the same time have taught the neighbour how to skin a pig, he is new to hunting and enjoys cooking, these pigs all went into some flash meals

I was getting frustrated with the pigs, it was a slow start so I started sneaking out for those quick looks after work and Axle caught this on his own, yay a boar, not the biggest but still were starting to get on a roll now

Ever herd that saying nothing lasts forever
Axle caught the big bastard, had him for around 5 mins, was less than 200m away, it seemed to take forever to get there and when I did all he had for back up was 2 bail dogs, loaded a bullet into the 30-30 but could not get a clear shot with the bail dogs in the way to close, waiting for the back up to arrive Mr pig thought bugger this and tossed Axle away and slipped into the thick stuff as they do, all this happened so fast

We caught a smaller sow on the way back out and then I discovered the boar had one of his tusks inside the poor boys rip collar so off to see his mate the vet

Doped out dog resting on dads leg coming home

Size: 565.2 KB

Luckily the pig couldn't ram his tusks home under the collar
Look out Mr pig, you are stoppable we will see you again one day...

So that was us for a while, dog on compo
What does a man do, well I still had my little cute bail dog so teamed up with some mates and we got this bugger
A nice 3 dog bail going to town, we thought we might have had the big one, it took for ever for the back up dogs to arrive, still a nice pig though

Then I managed my very first deer
It was spotlighting on private land
After what seemed like forever we found some, I lined up a shot and bang, nothing, next shot nothing, 3rd shot whack ' that was a hit ' I said
Got over there and there were 3 deer from 3 shots, felt a tad greedy but though, never mind they taste bloody nice

Good stuff mate! Cool to see you taking your kids out so young. You watch your boy around those red and white-spotted mushrooms, they're pretty poisonous hahaha
