Went back to my usual wallaby spot today. Everything was damp as hell.
Intention of this hunt was to push on further than previous trips to explore as much new country as possible. Spooked quite a few wallabies on the way. Didn't bother sitting down to glass at all.
Bumped into a wallaby standing 50m away. Wasn't planning to shoot it at first, but after a long staredown it didn't even move, so I decided to give it a crack.
Opened my pack to screw on the suppressor, load ammo into mag, find scissors to cut open the ear plug packet, put in the plugs, attempted prone position but then moved to kneeling, lined up the cross hair and the little guy was still there!
Smacked it with the home loaded Speer 80gr Hot-cor. Dropped it on the spot. Perfectly placed chest shot which went right through.
Carried on for a bit further after that. My legs were dead but the view was well worth it.
On my way back I saw a mob of black goats sunning themselves on a large rock, although they were too far for a shot (camera and rifle). Never expected to see goats in wallaby country, always thought they were mutually exclusive.
