    Southern Alps Extra

Had a late night earlier in the week and got this little trip edited and live. Choice little trip off the cuff due to coming out of Fiordland two days early.

    Hope you enjoy.

Beautiful country, good to see a few animals in there. Ute looks pretty clean, was there no mud holes on the drive in? Also can you get to the hut by staying on the true left after crossing the swing bridge?

Yup there’s a few mud holes but lots of alternate tracks to use at the tricky points. Yes you can stay on the true left the whole way to the hut using the high water track. It’s much slower going though so if you can stay on the flats and just cross the river you save a lot of time and much easier walking as we found on the way out.
