Some good eating there and it sounds as if it wasn't to hard a hunt.

You right there Mooseman, just watch and wait.Bang and collect.I just had to be carefull of the breeze floating around. With a thermal clip on,the deer didnt have a chance.

I went up behind the house right on dark last night
I thought I better grab the pard NV clip on for the 308.
Got up the top and seen a couple reds in the far paddock.
By the time I got to a shooting position it was past shooting with out NV as all I could see were faint brown lumps through the binos.
Dialed In a couple of mils for 357m and could clearly identify and place my shots and that was with out the ir been on.
Longest shots so far with it and pretty impressed to be fair.
Best part, no guessing the elevation as if I had used the thermal scope set up I would have had to guess hold over.

I have a InFiRay FH35R with a built in range finder. Can range out to 800yds on a good night so dont have to guess hold over either. All my deer over the last few years have been inside 300yds,dont need to shoot further.Enjoy your pard.

Looks tasty Trout. You make it sound too easy, didn't drive over your rifle either.

Just look at that dry stony ground. No wonder your Nissan never gets stuck.

Smart driving on rocks, dont get stuck.Dont worry last summer had 2 near misses.Sinky shingle sand on river edge, right front corner suck over top of tyer in one second flat.wtf my son n law said.I stopped the truck dead, switched into diff lock, put in reverse and very slowly on the gas pedal. The old patrol very slowly crawled back out of the sand pit.Lucky the back wheels were on a bit more solid sandy river bed.

Nice one. I'm hoping to get a fallow tomorrow on public land to stock up the empty freezer.
