Mint video - shame you could get the animal; it looked OK too.
Nice video work mate, good hunting country looks like you had a great time.
Hi Patrick, Blair here from Oceana gold exploration. Nice vid mate, the essence of solo hunting no commentary just wind and water for noise. Looked like a good chamois, fair sized body what was the horn length like do you think? I think you have a .270 did you use that? It sounded like you had a bit of wind to contend with to but it's great that when you apply the science behind wind deflection it works sweet.
I have also shot a few chamois since I've seen you nothing bigger than a 9 5/8 like your one in the mag but still i was happy to retrieve it from where it fell to, scared me senseless, good fun.
I was going to try and go for a look this weekend, Rozo was dropping off some fishermen so i was going to try and bludge a ride to the tops but the weather here is pretty pooh with lots of fog, spring time seems like you have to search for them a bit so well done in locating that animal. All the best.
Cheers for that - always good to see how other guys hunt
nice vid and good looking chamois.
Cool vid and adventure!
Hey Blair. Yes still using the .270. Wind wise there was a little on my side but he was in a lee bit with none so just waited for it to die down enough that it wasn't to much of an issue. Was at 1 o'clock so near front on anyways. Horns look to be about 1.25 to 1.5x ear length but with good hooks so hazard a guess anywhere between 8 to 9.5". I would have thought the rivers are up...
If your still at OGL next time i swing through i will drop by.
Awesome video bud. Go pro? Bloody good quality footage :)
