Story of a Big Sika Stag

Morning everyone. I have spent the last few weeks watching and chasing down a beauty Sika stag I first spotted in mid Jan. The video below is a compilation of hunts involving the big fella. Hope you enjoy 👍

Awesome vid. Shame about missing out on the stag.
That country looks a little familiar but I dont remember any huts around there.

Awesome stuff stagstalker. Love your posts. Really enjoyed your 284 build. Love your 8 pointer vid, and as hard as your choice not to shoot was, it was the right one. Nothing worse than a soft tipped velvet stag.

Very nice stag, great video. Still got a chance to get him before the roar.

@stagstalker Good on you for not shooting if you were in doubt, if it was to have soft tips you would have been more disappointed then you are now. I like to think good things happen to guys like your self in the hunting world

Great video and love that area to hunt. Hopefully you’ve racked up a stack of karma for the roar

Hey mate. Great patience and unlucky to not secure the stag but like others have said your time will come with good ethics like that. If only more people were the same.
Mostly enjoyed watching getting the young kids out and reminded me of how much of a mission it was as I used to have my kids on the tops of the Ruahine’s as soon as they could walk lol. Was well worth it though as they all have a massing passion for it now only problem being it’s not ideal when your 9 ,10 and 12 year old start pulling away from ya on good climbs lol. A joy to watch mate.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone, I appreciate it! @Conmad Jackvann thanks mate, it sure is hard work getting them out there but it’s great memories afterwards ay. I’m still learning to take a step back when the kids are out and focus on fun for them rather then the hunt haha. I thoroughly enjoy reading and watching your stuff with your kids! Those NZ Hunter episodes have been just awesome. I hope
to enjoy the same things in a few years time. I will have to keep my fitness up to stay ahead haha.
