    Success with the new reloads

After five years of using factory ammo in my 7rm , i started reloading for it a few months ago and with the limited choice of components i ended up with a load of 71.5 gr of IMR 8133 behind a 175gr Sierra Gameking.
I haven't cronyed the load but made up a drop chart using a guesstimated mv of 2800fps. The plan was to get some shots on a target at long range an adjust it from there, but its always been to windy to get any accurate results past 300yds but so far my drop chart has been spot on.
Its not a maximum load but is accurate and while the Gamekings don't have a fancy plastic tip or a high BC, they have a good reputation on game out to moderate ranges and probably suit my style of hunting.
With limited opportunities in recent months and despite the hoards of deer allegedly roaming the Ruahines, i have been unable to get one on the deck to see how the reloads go,that is until a couple of days ago when i walked into an old haunt of mine and shot this nice yearling at 285yds.Name: IMG_0345.JPG

Pretty satisfying when you take an animal with your own bullets. Nicely done.

Nice work mate pretty good feeling taking the first with reloads. Must be the equivalent of catching a trout on a fly tied yourself too I guess.
And good effort with making the drop chart the old fashioned way. Funny how even with a chronograph it still pays to double check it that way anyway!
