Thread: SUN SET HUNT

Iv been saying all week,one more hunt befor xmas.My wife has been hearing this all month.The weather looked good yesterday,so late afternoon,i decided im off to annoy a deer.Hours later i parked the truck up and went for my little walk,not much light left at 9.15pm.The area had a lot of rain,some of the deer tucker was a metre high.I stopped at watched a clearing which was about 80yds long beside a stream.A little breeze in my face,perfect.As i was looking for head poping ears over the feed area.I heard some stones rattle,thump about 10 yds to my left.Two yearlings were looking at me,one was broad side.I could them from ground up standing in a shingle patch.Luckly i had my rifle in both hands,My right hand slowly loaded the 308 trying not to rattle clang the bolt.They still standing there thinking wtf are you doing in our super market.I thort this is all on looking down the barrel,i didnt use the scope,no time.Just pointed and shoot.10 yds away i couldnt miss,and i didnt.Well the other yearling ran about 20yds into the high feed,he stopped for about 5 seconds and thort,bugger this im out of here.
I cut the yearling up,i know one thing,carrying all 4 legs and back steaks of a yearling in yr old pack a bloody site easier than a fat red stag hq.Truck was only about 400yds away so the walk was easy.I was going to stay the night but i drove home under the moon light,buitifull.Roll on xmas.
