    Super Stoked

Wasn't meant to happen until he was atleast 10 years old but he's been hunting with me since he could go in the back pack and been with me on hundreds of kills.

A couple parries let the handful of deer at 350 odd meters know we were in the area so we carried on stalking around the bush edge for a km or so looking for a tasty yearling or hind.
Seen the bugger on the bush edge about 120m from us, happily feeding away, watched him for a couple minutes then the boy said "can I shoot him", he's only ever fired the 22 and a few rabbits are his only kill.
I was reluctant at first but I could tell he was bloody pumped to get his first venison.
I was confident in him to hit it in the neck where i told him to aim though as he's always been a sharp shot with the 22lr so i layed him down with my 7mmsaum , took about 10seconds to get comfortable and the rest is history, he done bloody well holding onto the saum sending the 162@ 3000fps , a very proud dad and a super stoked 7yr old!
    He hasn't stopped fizzing.
He Had to ring all the grandads and uncles to let them know the news.
It's currently getting boiled up ready for above his bed.
    Cheers

That's excellent - look at that smile!

If he has to work and save his pocket money to get a rifle like Dad's one day he may get a shock when he works out how many hours worth of jobs it's going to be!!!

Fantastic, well done to the young fella and to Dad for doing the parenting bit right. Now invite the grandparents around for dinner one night and serve up your son's venison, and have the trophy all boiled out so he can show them at the same time. The buzz will continue for a long time and the memories for a lifetime.
