Tahr Hunting Trip Photos and Video

So had been planing this a few months out and the time finally rolled around, Weather looking good we packed up and off to Mt Cook at 4am. A bloody long time later (9 hours) and we arrived at spot X
having talked to a couple of good fellas about the spot, we we're told about 45min to camp site and no more.
Well 1 hr 45min into it we were bloody knackered with 30kg plus packs and still trying to find this camp site, turns out someone didnt look at the map properly and we had walked past it haha good times
Camp set up and off for an evening glass, deciding to head up to "that" ridge only to be bluffed twice and scratched to hell with friggn thorny bushes we were back where we had started 1.5hrs later.
Finally we made it up to an awesome glassing position and sat there till just before dark spotting around 30 Tahr, no shots taken as we decided to wait till morning.
Next morning back up to the same position to try and shoot our first tahr and sat there for about 3 hours seeing only 3 tahr all morning, gay!!!
Decided to head out back to the truck as was only late morning and had a lot of time to kill and also had to pick up some more food that we couldn't fit in the previous day.
Went down to the Mt Cook hermitage and took some mean photos and ate a bloody expensive really crap pizza
Walked back in to camp got eaten alive while trying to nap by sandflies (they have no use in life aye!!)
Back up the hill for evening glassing session seeing a lot of tahr from about 5:30pm onwards but the nice weather had changed to gale force winds which was interesting with trying to not get blown off the side of the hill.
Around 7:30pm a young bull popped up at 430yards in a shootable position, we closed the gap to 230 yards and Titan308 managed to smack over his 1st Tahr. We had a go at retrieving it but turns out its a lot steeper than it looks and didn't end up being about to get to him.
I had a couple of 600 yard shots at a couple of young ones but with the wind that was blowing it was not to be.
A 1030 yard shot was taken at a reasonable Bull over the other side as we had nothing to lose and were thinking of leaving the next morning.
Would have been a bit of a fluke but worth a go. Just missed it as the wind again played against us. all good fun though.
Next morning was raining and low cloud so not worth staying any longer, packed up and slowly walked out. Finally getting to the truck and then beginning the 9 hour trip back home
We learned heaps and was a magic way to spend a long weekend and ill defiantly be going back.
    Heres some pics
