    Take someone hunting!

After my south island trip I was messaged randomly on facebook by a guy who I worked at the same meat factory with. He asked if I could take him out hunting he seemed keen as mustard, so within two days we went for a hunt into a doc block which has a few goats running around and the odd fallow.

We snuck across a ridgeline which has a clearing below us almost like a bowl, which Ive seen many goats before. "I see one there" Jai whispered. We set him up on the tikka .260 I run him through a shooting process quickly, this nanny keeps darting in and out of the manuka. Within a couple minutes he was able to pick his shot. The unmistakable sound of a hit was heard! The smile on this guy was ear to ear! He couldn't of been happier.

We got down there and butchered her up and continued our days hunting. He did well bagging another four goats.
Id advise anyone to take someone new out to learn how to hunt, it was really rewarding. Hes converted now. We will definitely be going for a hunt again in the future.

    Cheers guys

Good work on introducing someone new to the sport. Your story also highlights the value of goats as a species to inexperienced or young hunters.

Top work to see you go from rookie to seasoned hunter and sharing it with other newbies now. Especially in such a short time.
Shot more deer than alot of people i know who have been hunting their whole lives.

Dont forget still lots to learn and I have learned a lot from you too.
Now to target deer more than goats haha.
