Dixs Firearms in washdyke is always good for a chat.
H&F on Stafford street is all good.

And the best coffee in town (possibly SI/NZ) is at 2 Stags café - if you go here give me a PM and i'll call in for a coffee

    LOL! @Beaker,
Went for a quick visit at H&F but couldn't stop yet, the missus with me, just stop for a look in the GC sign place, second hand shop, than back to HF to later go for a drive to washdyke.
Beaker, we just had breakfast at 2 stags!

    Cheers for the heads up.

Good place Timaru. The H+F on Stafford St has never been the same since Thai retired though, he was a legend.

    Legend , ha
he used to be the PD officer in ........ years ago.

I remember some time ago going into his shop when the wife and I were in Timaru .
    Skinny little shop it was
I asked if he had any second hand rifles, he went on and on and on about why would anyone want to buy a second hand rifle when for $xxxxSFA I could get this.... plastic fantastic with a shitty scope for 700$ and go shoot
    Then he said,
    Don't I know you.

I had nothing but good experiences with Thai, going back to when he was in the outdoor section at Smiths City giving gear advice to keen but inexperienced teenagers like me.

Thai was a real good bugger, my dad is good mates with him and still deals through him. Quite a character, I remember the first time I met him he did this crazy palm reading thing to me and told me something that there is no way he could have known! Had me stumped for ages untill the old man said he was just F*#king with me haha
