@Tahr - did that big old one cop the Hammer Hunter from the PRC? Anything to offer on performance - other than the obvious 'it died'

Ha ha, great yarn, thanks @Tahr. You need to recruit some young(er) buggers for all that hard work so you can have more time on the hill... I'll work for venison!

Yes. I dialled in for 300 yards for where it was when it came to the bush edge. When it came out it ran out into the paddock and around a face so by the time it stopped it would have probably been 350 yards. I still aimed dead on and hit it quite low on the chest in behind the low shoulder and the bullet came out around about the brisket (pic). My ballistic thing says I would have hit about 5" below where I aimed, and thats what happened. Anyway, in normal circumstances I would expect a low chest shot to be a runner, but it actually poll-axed. I put that down to the fact that Hammers are designed to shed their petals which fly all over the shop. There was shard damage well up into the shoulder and lungs. Very effective. Note too that the exit is quite small - thats the relatively unexpanded shank existing - but hell it did some internal damage.

The PRC is very mild and easy to shoot accurately. Ive only got a 2-12 Burris on it.

And that's arthritis in my finger joint if you must know. Coming to you at your place eventually.
