Been reading everyone's stories and thort it's about time I put my own up. I'm quite a newb when it comes to hunting so I'll post something I'm familiar with.
Was the old man's birthday on friday and the game fishing season has really been going off this year. Weather was looking minta for over the manukau.
Found a bit of weed in 300 m of water with a school of mahi mahi. This cheeky bugger jumped on the lure about 3/4 his length
After trying to get a couple more of those tasty buggers to no avail we carried on out. At the 550 m Mark at 11am we had a marlin in the gear. After a 30min fight we had him boat side.
Estimated at 130-140 kg. Had a couple photos and let him fight for another day. Trolled till 3 and picked up a couple albacore tuna.
Next day we couldn't help ourselves and went back out.
Had a marlin in the gear at 11am once again. 30min fight and spat the hook next to the boat.
Mint weekend and the old man loved it.
Cheers
