Thread: Winter Hunts - Hawkes Bay

thought i,d share some winter hunting missions i,ve been on lately, A fine break at the start of June seen me chasing the ever elusive Rusa Stag. A few animals were seen, including 2 stags which I bumped out of their patch in exactly the same spots as last year!
A coupla weeks later A frosty morning found me in the ruahines looking for a reasonable stag, a few animals were spotted, including 2 spikers, which were too handy to the carpark to turn down, so down the smaller fella went, left the bigger spiker to run away and hopefully grow bigger antlers
a few days later I was lucky enough to join a team of mates on a taupo road ballot block, we had a ball in here, the weather was perfect, & plenty of animals in residence we managed to make a small dent on the local population, seen 2 mint 8 ptrs, which weren,t harmed but great to see, Thats It for now, hot barrels
