Yes we have to. There absolutely no doubt about that, if we don’t don’t someone else will; in fact I think it’s too late and DOC will be forced to do it. Cam Speedy and the Sika Foundation have tried to encourage good management, but just like Tahr, self interest and trophy greed have forced this situation.
It’s sad but it’s true, but buck shot may be coming to a place near you!
Seriously, tell me a State Forest Park, where the deer numbers haven’t been this high in the last 30 years?
That's a cool story, very nice 8 pointer, a lot of people go a life time hunting for the elusive 8 and never achieve it so you have done that .Well Done, never been to the Manson it sure looks like nice country and the weather looked great.
Mt Richmond forest park.
High numbers only accumulate in the councils or docs protected areas (where only privileged people can hunt and protect the herd) under the pretense of protecting the water supply from hunters leaving guts in water ways untill numbers breed up to the point that the rate payer who would love to hunt the easy front country is forced to pay for them to be shot to waste from the air and left to rot in the WATERWAYS (the whole reason we the tax payer are not allowed to hunt them)
Yea so there is one at least.
No doubt numbers need controlling in certain areas but I am yet to here of one aroud here and If one was posted as being overun it would be shot out in no time.
"Hunting and fishing" fucking over licenced firearms owners since ages ago.
308Win One chambering to rule them all.
@veitnamcam
Anyone can hunt in the Kawekas, although it’s a fair walk. :-)
I’ve also noticed the higher numbers in the ‘protected’ areas. I’m heading into one tomorrow. These areas need to be culled.
Nice. Thanks for the story.
Been up there too. Beautiful country.
