Great work CB What a nice animal, and the pronghorn too ! Would of been tough stalking with that many sets of eyes in that open country.

Thanks mate. The stalk went well, there was a creek that we followed that provided cover. The wind was prefect too. But I did have to wait 5 minutes (which seemed like an age!) to get a clear shot away from the cows.

Yeah, enjoy hunting both places but lately easier to draw USA tags than Wapiti blocks! Missed out on a Wapiti block and head back to Wyoming in 2024.

How many points did that unit take?

I'm up to 5 in WY.

    It was 13 points.

With 5 you’re probably best to apply for a general unit. Unless you wanted to try the special draw at $US2000.

What was the score if you don’t mind? I have an Alberta elk tag for next week and trying to gauge what one might look like…

No I've got no plans to use my points any time soon. I'd like a nice elk but I'm more interested in a Big muley which I figure is another 5 years or so away.

Good plan. I’ve hunted mulies a few times over there and managed to get a decent one a few years ago. Awesome hunt.

I don't know, may be 300 inches but would be reduced from the broken points. Good luck with your Alberta hunt. Is that a guided hunt?

Nice. Yes guided, targeting whitetail but I got an elk tag chucked in late. Did you end up being antlers and skin back with you? Any issues?

I’ve bought back antlers etc a few different ways over the years. This time I cut off the antlers, and removed the pronghorn horns, and checked them in. I wrapped the antlers (all four) and checked them in as you would a normal bag. No issues with MAF which was surprising.

Went well but ate tag soup, nothing mature enough seem to shoot.
