    last corona work car went for 320k for me between home and work.

    Cooling fan failure killed it which was a bit disappointing, otherwise it would still be going I reckon. Still I only paid 2 k for it and it went for 7 years and only cost $7 in repairs in that time ( water temp sensor) usual running stuff like tyres brakes etc.

    Change oil and filter every 5 k. clean out air filter

    A lot of what I see in the workshop when peoples vehicles let them down is the lack of maintenance. I saw a woman the other day with a suzuki swift. 20k overdue for a service. engine seized because no oil left.

    Girl friend back in the 80's had a Mitzi Gallant. Went for absolutely ages and never gave any issues.

    Then she got the local garage to service it and do the coolant change, as she was a real ski bunny. Car went 30km then seized as the hopeless pricks had drained the coolant, stuck in a L of antifreeze then forgotten to top up with water

    Mate pre heated the block, stitch welded the crack up and left it in the lime bath for 2 days to cool down slowly. I got it rebored, then I rebuilt the donk and it went for another hundy and fifty thousand km before we sold it and got a ......Land Rover

    6 toyotas between myself and my 3 boys.
    3 corolla's and 3 sheep shaggers
    There's a reason for that.
    The same with rifles, all running tikka's.

    Sure battery refuel is signifcantly slower than pouring in a liquid but I recall seeing a figure saying most vehciles are only moving for 3-5% of the time they're owned. That's plenty of doing nothing hours to charge.
