    2 Stroke outboard servicing

My pet Mechanic is not available at the present time , so he says I should do it myself . Plugs , fuel filter And gearbox oil (check for water firstly ) if good drain refill . Impella is new and pumping very well . Anything else I need to do ?

Dunno but for the over 500 bucks I payed for a peice of mind service when I bought mine and the things I found after that had been overlooked I will be doing it myself from now on.

Have a look at the front of the motor when fully tilted and you should see a plastic ring thingy clamped onto the horizontal 'hinge pin' housing. Possibly clagged with grease, so clean thoroughly with degreaser/WD40 type stuff. If unable to follow my suggestions, Google images will show the part and location. The plastic ring sometimes breaks but can be substituted with a stainless clamp.

No reason at all you shouldnt do your own servicing if you have the time (All there on utube) . One upside is you may learn enough about that motor to get it going in a "situation"

And yeah dont strip the carbs unless you have gasket kit.
