Yep, these little bastards do. You want to try a electronic fault combined with a crook fuel pressure modulation valve (or suction control valve). A LOT of time on a data logger setup to get the fault to repeat to be able to quantify WHY the engine management system was going into limp mode, replacing the FPMV sorted out the limp mode but it still has some weird engine and body management stuff going on. Like the cruise control randomly not working at over 80Km/H but OK at less and the parking sonar sensors going into error mode after driving for a random amount but turn the thing on and off and they are fine (or maybe you turn the thing on and go into reverse and they don't work...). Some form of CANBUS loom glitch is the operating theory for this one!
