    2016-19 Mitsi Triton's

    Hi Folks!

Just wanting to pick some people's brains about the 2016-2019 era Mitsubishi Tritons ?

Double cab, 2.4 Diesel, manual wellside with rear canopy(not fused if it's a GLX or GLS).

I currently own a very tidy 05 GLS triton that's done 201000 k's and am thinking it wouldnt be a silly idea to update to a more modern beast.

Will be used as my daily but would like to be able to go places with it obviously.

    Any info much appreciated folks

    Cheers James

Cousin has one and loves it. It’s manual 2wd and tows his Jayco caravan well. I nearly bought a new one, but opted for a d-max as Mitzi seemed a bit light for me. That said, they have good ratings.

    Mates got a 2016 manual.
Loves it, reliable as a shovel.
He replaced the tyres, and it goes bloody well.
He nui to ngaromanga, he iti to putanga.

You depart with mighty boasts, but you come back having done little.
Sounds like a typical hunting trip !

I've just purchased a new 2019 Triton for an employee, he seems to be happy with it. Was a toss up between the Triton and a Hilux, the Triton won as you could drive it away on the day with a canopy and tow bar, I needed it a hurry as I took someone on over the lock down. The Hilux was going to take a few weeks to get sorted with the canopy and tow bar.
When I drove it it had plenty of stick, seemd to have hard suspension in the rear end.
They wouldn't throw in mats or seat covers, tried to haggle but a polite take it or leave it and I was a cash buyer.

I know there are mitsi haters but the current generation seems to have fantastic reviews.

I'm after a really low k manual 4wd double cab wellside with canopy. Also a set of ATs and a snorkel. Something that spec for around 30k and I'd be very very happy

Cheeky comment, but I could offer you my 2017 d-max double cab with canopy, tow bar, nudge bar, three roof racks, electric brake controller for caravan, seat covers, manual, service record, two sets of wheels (h/t and a/t), 34,000 kms.

I mentioned to my wife, my offer to sell the d-max and received a terse reply involving sex and travel. Sorry.

We use them at work, reliable and fairly capable. Biggest gripe is their tall gearing and horrible flat spot just off the bottom if you need to gun it.

I do notice on FBook - every day many Double Cabs coming on 2015 - 2019 - a lot of Rangers

    I bought a 2018 runout special 2wd auto.
I test drove the manual and the auto......honestly I wouldnt recommend the manual if you live in town or anywhere with tight 50zones
That said the hilux is no better in that resect.

Its great, I take great pleasure in overtaking wildtracks going uphill.

Its a bit laggy off the line but having a auto and stalling it up gives wicked holeshots into traffic, electronic egr delete gets rid of half of the lag..
Its quiet and fast and safe and economic to run and maitain.

    Things that annoy me.

Passenger seat seat belt rattles against b pilar every time a passenger gets out untill I lean accross and flip the buckle around.
Cup holders are a joke but the water bottle holders in the doors are great!
Worst of all this is my major gripe.
If you are between 5 and 7 foot tall you cannot see left while turning left.
Some fucktard put the rear veiw mirror low in the windscreen right in your feild of veiw turning left.....I realise the rest of the world doesn't have any corners in thier roads but its a shit.....I have to duck down to see where I am going on hills.

Other than that I love it. Its the best value 2 or 4wd on the market.

Yep they sure are. 2.4 MIVEC.

I've been told by a very good freind of mine to not touch a 2.5(2015 or older model) powered model. I stand to be corrected though

Hi @Rock river arms hunter, I have a 2015 Triton for sale. 85k ish on clock, but no canopy unfortunately. It has a ute master hard lid instead that I really like for my purposes. Give me a PM if you want to know more.

    Cheers Jeremy.
