wonder if the neww ones still have synchro issues when changing from 4th to 3rd? also the egs system on the 2,5 is awful and best turned off.

Well I like my 2009 Triton D/Cab, from the ML range 2006-2009. Shorter tub = much better departure angle for crossing creeks etc, and easier maneuvering & parking round town. Bomb proof 4-speed auto. Good 4WD, no traction control but has factory rear diff lock and Super Select. And mighty 3.2 motor, not the most economical or quiet, but reliable and very grunty when chipped/remapped. cheers

Got a 2018 in 4wd well side with canopy. Bit under 30kms, really like it. Has replaced a 80series landcruiser and a subaru outback and wanted something inbetween

Havent pushed it hard off road but gone everywhere i ask, new coopers a/t tyres. Really quiet to drive plenty of grunt for overtaking, towed a single axle trailer fully loaded to 1ton (at a guess) for 10hours, no issues at all except fuel went from 10l/100km (their 7.4l claim is complete crap) to 15l

Had a few issues getting my canopy sorted as they initally said they had one in stock and they didnt so had to wait about 3months for it to arrive in nz. They put a hard aluminum lid in on the meantime which was useless for the dogs.

Wish they had kept the rear diff lock and left off the fancy computer, though having google maps on the screen (linked through a phone app) is handy. Lets you know if there is a straight coming up to prepare for overtaking and a rough idea of how much straight you are going to have.

As with all vehicles these days the extras of towbar, seat covers, mats etc all add up. Got mine ex demo with these features and 7k on the clock

I have a GLXR 2018 double cab auto canopy snorkel blah blah..., have tested it off-road a fair bit goes really well appears to have a higher clearance than other vehicles of similar age.

Found the 5-speed auto either one gear short or working the motor well and not letting it near idle on 100 clicks - still making my mind up on this.

2.4 has plenty on and off road power have done a little bit of towing which went okay.

DONT purchase a Mitsubishi snorkel and be caught out like me with a “raised dust intake” apparently when you ask for a snorkel you still need to read the fine print 🤬

Anymore questions flick me a message if you like!

    Hi @bigbear

    Well

It goes like a cut cat for speed.

More like a car to drive than a truck per say. Has plenty of power and although bigger than the previous generations of Tritons it doesnt feel that much bigger.

Incredibly comfy with heaps of room.

    Fuel economy is great.

I've got it doing about 35-370k per half a tank and that's not driving like a nanna.

Very easy to use the fancy features like the bluetooth etc so even for someone like myself who is challenged in that respect it's very user friendly.

Had it on the road to erua the other day in a foot of snow in 2h and HT tyres.

Managed perfectly fine with only 2 tiny loss of traction moments which did suprise me given that I've only got HTs on it now.

Overall very happy aside from the snorkel which vibrates(will get that looked at tomorrow)
