yeah I totally understand why, the actual fitting of windows there would just be a bit of a nightmare for someone with my skill set and limitations, At least if I am aware of it I can be more vigilant about double checking and triple checking blind spots.
Thanks for the heads up about the mirrors I'll look into them too.

Ironically I'll be working on it today, i have been out to work on it a few times but haven't made a lot visual progress hence no updates.
Hoping to paint early next year then i can concentrate on putting it all back together and getting it running.
Once painted i can also tow it back to my place where i can work on it more often.
Having it stored 45mins away whilst convenient having it at my mates engineering shop it makes getting away to work on it less convenient especially at this time of year.
It's a long game but i will get there.

Spent this morning welding in the patches where we cut the wellside off, passenger side is only tacked in as when the greenhouse hit 44c i decided a cold beer was far more Appealing.
I'm teaching myself to weld so it's taking a while especially as the Toyota sheet metal is quite thin and tricky to mig with goox penetration without blowing holes (well for me anyway).
Just sprayed some zinc coat on to stop it rusting between visits.

Welds look a bit cold Danny. Try a bit hotter if you can with short bursts on the trigger like running a series of tacks. It might be too thin as you mention but they'll be a lot flatter and prettier welds if you can pull it off. Tig is where it's at for this kind of stuff.

I also picked up a stainless snorkel for a too good to pass up deal, it looks a bit skewed in the pic thats cause the bottom is kinked out as no hole in the guard yet.
It's off an 80 series but it'll definitely work

Thankfully they wont be seen with the deck headboard covering it, but I'll try winding the heat up a bit next time I'm there, "a grinder and paint......" thanks for the tip

Ummm forgive me for this very untechnical answer cause it's buried in a box at the storage but it's just called "chassis black" it comes I a tin spray store sell it, does not require thinning and can be brushed on.
That's about as good an answer as I can give unfortunately, till I'm out there again.

Passenger side all sealed up today, increased the heat on the mig and found it a lot better but i also put that down to me getting a little better at steering it too, still very much a novice.

Only peaked at 34c in the green house today so was almost bare able

Next session I'll be making a panel and welding it into the last gap in the bottom of the cab as see in the pic below.
Then i need to weld up the bolt holse for the original front flares and get on to prepping the body for robliner
Baby steps but progress is progress

Are you putting new flares on it?

I found the replacement flares - although they didn't use the existing holes, did cover them so just hit them with cold galv and carried on.

I don't need flares as the wheels on it fit inside the factory guards even with 35" tires i was gonna run some rubber ones just to provide a little extra incase i changed wheel offset in the future, however i have had zero luck finding any plastic or glass ones for the 60 would happily run factory flares if i could find a set at a semi realistic price.
