    33s or 35s

My 33in bfg mts are getting down on the tread, am going to go with kl71s I see the 33s and 35s are the same price,
    What should I do ha?
My truck is lifted with front axle moved forward so the 35s will clear, and turbo set up is going on in winter (2.8 hilux)
Dont waste your time chasing every last fps, it doesnt matter in the real world, it wont make a difference, all it will do is cause head aches and frustrations. And dont listen to silly old cunts

Where from mate? I'm due for a new set and would go 35's on the cruiser.
I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.

You will want 4.8 diffs minimum but preferably 5.1s
    Gearing goes up considerably.

Depends what your doing with it. I've always worked on -
    Suzi 31's
    Hilux 33's
    Cruiser/Patrol 35's
as max size before breakage issues become too common.
Also gives them all about the same diff clearance.

Way out in left field here but from experience I have found that 35's have more maturity whereas 33's have firmer bodies.
    rob270 and BRADS like this.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

Are you planning on getting into racing, winch challenge, or anything like that at all?

Sweet Cam's recommendation of a 5.1 diff is pretty solid then. Here's a guideline we use quite often. Name: diffratiochart.jpg

This is for 4th gear at 100km. I can't remember what the colours mean but you'll know how your Ute pulls.

Going by your chart you want 4.5 or 4.8 to get into the green range red will going by that be over working it rev wise.

To go from the ln106s 30 inch standard tire to a true 33 inch 4.8 will get you back to standard gearing and speedo accurate or at least back to the error it had before. You can run 35s on 4.8 diffs but it will be geared up like 33s and standard diffs. 35s on standard ratios you would struggle to pull 4th at 100 even turbod and low range would no longer be low range.
As Tussok said brakes are very important to consider also, the bigger diameter is like putting a pipe on a power bar .
I rebuilt my entire brake system to run 33s on road and it was acceptable. 35s on trips to 4wd required lots of pedal force to stop and was easy to push to fade point but i tend to drive pretty quick even when goin slowly.

Rushy, you live next to Woodhill
Some of us used to drive it regularly, and/or harder stuff.
I have retired from it for a while until my boy gets bigger and wants to go out
Besides building a new one is half the fun.
