We have a dozen hilux from 2010 through to 2022. Nothing more than servicing, diff seals and brake rotors.
@Tahr ... working or holiday? Never even heard of the place !!
I know @Maca49 and @gonetropo swear by the Isuzu Dmax. This bunch of Thais squeeze 400hp out of their Dmax's...by blowing 50 lbs boost through them

Pah! Only 400hp?
There's an Indonesian guy who was a member of the newhilux.net crowd in Aussie. He had a long running thread of a Hilux 1KD Gen 7 build.
There was a dyno of 523hp/967nm.
Which just goes to show Toyota is better, obviously.
Just...say...the...word
I’ve had Hilux. Servicing under warranty was damned expensive. Went to D Max, now driving MU-X for more comfort with coils. Very happy with it. Son has a new Hilux and I hate it as I smack my head getting in.
That’s the first I’ve heard about Isuzu servicing being cheap compared to Toyota.

I'm a 70 series supporter cause it dis what I need it to do. Overpriced fuel guzzling beast
I have a 2005 Navarra for a Townie 300k on clock. Never a issue, but eating clutches tonight a boat , easily tows , but clutches can't handle yge ramps
For the price and what they give u a triton is is not a bad option. Servicing , warranty , running costs from what I told is better than most. 7yr warranty etc. Some ov the older trades around here buy em as they need the "looks" as capable offroad as most, definitely a step up in comfort from my Toyota
Mitsibushi makes some very long lasting motors on the light trucks, same technology. I just bought a old pajero for my trip, half the price than anything else. Ye i know it's a Paj, but will get me there
My 15/16 colorado was great. Solid and reliable and still going strong for my mate who bought it. Now on a new hilux and my only complaint is the cab space is tighter then what I had in the colorado. Other then that, love it.
