I have a 2019 ranger raptor and a 2019 Prado, both are fantastic on and off road. Raptor with 10 speeds is a bit uncertain of what gear to be in off-road where the Prado lumbers on like it doesn't care. Prado was the choice for a recent trip below in it natural environment.
guy has top model Triton 3 years old modified some Thailand based bumpers underbody protection it goes everywhere rieschek hut river rakia and other river trips and he thrashes it, one dpf clearance and brakes but service is $700 or more each time .surprised a lot of people with its ability and reliability with real tough off road use

Had Isuzu dmax for 4 years general servicing was bot $300 dearer than the HiLux that I've got now which I've had for 2.5 years can't comment on the big service yet as I haven't had one on the HiLux but my big service on the Isuzu was about $1400

Did you watch the video? Almost every issue he had was due to aftermarket ‘upgrades’. Once you start adding a whole lot of aftermarket parts, and getting the thing tuned, why would Toyota accept responsibility? Not that he makes any mention of any ‘denied vehicle faults’. Once you start fording rivers, exceeding the max wading depth, etc, you have to own the consequences.

yup watched that and all the previous vids aswell, 7000$ blown turbos because factory airbox lets dust into turbos, the brake problems poocruisers have is same story -
toyota denying warranty claims because a vehicle has been offroad, 1800$ starter motor bills for getting wet afew times and crapping itself doesn't inspire much want for

This is my opinion.
If you are buying a late model ute and paying $45 plus buy new and get a extended warranty.
And if you can once warranty is up move it on.
Also after driving a new auto for 12 months as a personal ute, then been supplied a manual work ute to save a couple grand i would never own another manual.
Doesn't matter what brand they all seem to have there issues but some more then others
One thing for you dmax boys is make sure you a keeping and eye / changing oil in rh side of front diff
