    Another tyre question

I have a 95 Rav 4 that is due for a wof and will def need 2 tyres to pass. I have a full set of tyres, currently on rims, that came off of my Mitsi and are currently surplus.

Rav currently has 215-70-16 on it. Would I be able to switch them for 255-70-16 without a lift ??

your gear ratios will be out of the window and chances are they will rub on the guards while turning so no WOF.
why not try recycling 365 used condoms into a tyre and calling it goodyear

The 70 means they will be 70% of the difference in width taller, or roughly 30mm. They will also poke into your vehicle about 20mm more and poke out 20mm more.

The outer edge of the tread will be about 15mm higher and 20mm out further relative to the bodywork.

Put the front ones out and go for a drive and do a few 3 point turns and use the suspension, if they rub you need something different! Only one way to find out

if it works (though dont expect it will) you will have to change all 4, otherwise you will blow the diff when in 4wd.

As the most common problem is with the steering, if no problems then change all four, if problems you have wasted time and effort changing the back ones
