    Anyone got a Kawasaki Mule?

I'm looking at getting a Kawasaki Mule for my next 'quad' for the dairy farm. Has anyone got one or had experience with one? It's either that or a Honda 500

My old man has one for the beach, uses it for carting the long line around. Seems to go alright. Heaps easier than a quad.

At least on the farm you don't get wet getting the cows in and no helmet needed.

Mate of mine has a John Deere side by side its diesel and safer for the kids and cheaper to run than a quad.

Part of my problem is that whatever i buy has to fit through the underpass. I haven't found another side by side that will.

That will be the roll frame. Polaris make a single seater that's lower than the 2 ups, carries more and appears popular with pest operators, and Honda have a new 500 cc one with a flappy paddle gearbox that is most impressive and lower than their big mother

Son uses one every day working as a park ranger. He swears by the thing. Had a brief fang on it myself, it beats the quad hands down.
He nui to ngaromanga, he iti to putanga.

You depart with mighty boasts, but you come back having done little.
Sounds like a typical hunting trip !

We have a mule a polaris and a gator where I work. The poolaris breaks down all the time hence its name. The gator is ok but a little light and gets pushed around by big trailers and loads.
The mule would be my pick of the 3. It seems to be the most reliable and can carry the biggest pay load on the back and good on steep hills

For a workhorse the Mule 4010 FI or the Mule 610 XC would be my pick.

Kawasaki NZ | 2015 Mule 4010 FI Power Steering (KAF620MFF). Part of the Side By Side Motorcycle Range from Kawasaki New Zealand. Kawasaki NZ | 2015 Mule 610 XC (Big Foot) (KAF400DFF). Part of the Side By Side Motorcycle Range from Kawasaki New Zealand.

For work and play a Yam rhino would be the go.
Those 3 are tough and pretty darn reliable.
The 610's how ever will need hanger bearing replacement every few years, But they are rebuildable, New bearings an away you go.
The New Yamaha Wolverine will be interesting when it comes out. 2016 Yamaha Wolverine R-Spec EPS
Identify your target beyond all doubt !

Depends on how smooth the ground is, we had one for 5yrs, servicing is essential or you will need a new engine, track rods bend if you hit tree stumps, they get stuck easier than a quad, the four wheel drive is not true 4x4.
Pluses they are less tiring than a quad, better to shoot out of, carry a lot more gear, great for lamping rabbits

Bro in law had one. Slipped off a track. As it was fish tailing down he he couldn't get out due to the bucket seats and steering wheel. He managed to extract himself just before it rolled over a bank. I reckon he was bloody lucky to survive that one.
