ATV Quad trailer suitable for hunting

So I’ve now got my quad sorted. Now looking at ideas for a quad trailer set up suitable for around home and potentially take hunting.
    What works for you?
Logistically the quad trailer would somehow have to fit on car trailer, on back of ute etc.
also looking at something cost effective. Some of these farm trailers are getting up there price wise.
    Any ideas appreciated.

Just get a small single axle road trailer. It will greatly improve the logistics of having to put trailers on trailers. My little 6X4 foot trailer just fits my 660 grizzly on if I leave the tailgates up when I load it and it drops down into the gap. Then take quad off trailer, then trailer off tow vehicle and put trailer on quad and off you go. Otherwise you will need to leave your good tandem trailer with the tow vehicle which may not still be there when you get back.

As above, my trailer that just fits the quad on it for transporting on the road also then doubles as being towed by the quad once unloaded.

Ya know you mean business when you have an ammo box on the front
that light bar looks the shizzle

This is the only pic I have of the trailer on my quad. Was putting in a soak hole with my 600mm auger bit

Haha it’s actually filled with tyre repair kit, the light is a bloody game changer aye. Can’t imagine driving the quad at night without it now!

I have two LED lights fitted just behind the front bar assembly. I left the original in place and have the LEDs wired up to dip beam and the original still on main beam. Find the duller original beam works well if someone is opening gates or similar for you as the LED is too bright. Also figured I'd still have lights if one or other system failed. No doubt about the vast improvement in light output with the LED.

I can't have a ATV trailer wilder than the bike on the tracks I drive so all depends on where you want to tow your trailer & I like the balloon tyre's when riding over rough ground but then it also comes down to cost & what trailers you have already. Iv got a flat deck ATV trailer so keep full width off deck & have had the small kea bike trailer witch was my favorite for a light weight small trailer but it didn't have enough deck space for when I use a bike trailer at work. I have tandem trailer that 3.6 long so can ride straight on if it just one bike going if others are come hunting & iv 3 bikes on trailer I just flip bike trailer up onto it's back tail gate & slide it onto the draw bar off tandem trailer so it pointing up it works great easy to tie on. If you only want a little bike trailer have you thought bot one these https://www.topmaq.co.nz/poly-dump-h...400kg-faat0750 they seem to work really good you can flip them up side down & put them on top of ATV for transport I know a couple people with them & they really surprised me what they put up with the only down side is don't drive up a to steep hill with the sloped back as everything ends up on the ground I done that when I used my brothers one was a funny piss off

Hi , yes I’ve actually been considering those topmaq trailers. They look really handy and well priced at $500. Those little Kea trailers look awesome but at $2k + it’s almost half the cost of the quad!!! Hard to justify just for hunting and lifestyle… I might go have a look at the Topmaqs!!

i copied my mates design, not really suitable for yard work but handles everything the hills could throw at it.
im using 250kg jetski trailer leaf springs, mounted a spare wheel on the front and uses a tourno type cover.
completly waterproof and same dimentions as the quad so follows everywhere it goes

btw that picture was taken queens birthday going into a hut with 40kg coal and half the trailer of wood, full 50l chilly bin and gear for three of us. when its lighter on the way out just let some air out so the tyres soak up more of the bumps. can flip it on its arse for more compact trailer storage but just as easy to leave it attached and drive the m both onto the car trailer/transorter

Here's a little one I had made about ten years ago. Cost about $500 from memory but the wheels have since been upgraded. The orig wheels couldn't handle the loads I was putting in it after fitting the slide-out ply extensions. Main use is dragging firewood up from our valley. Best guess would be over 400kg of wood when filled up, a big load anyway for such a toy trailer.

Do you know anyone around Christchurch that could make something up for reasonable cost? Thanks

The biggest cost is the hubs, stubs and wheels
