    barn find

As our American brethren would call it, just scored a barn find. ..

Fj45 land cruiser, with less rust than most

Amazing machines, hasn't been started in years but the owner (who brought it new in 1974) assured me he drove it to it's current resting place. Cleaned the plugs, a bit of pure down the throat and a pull start had it running, albeit only on a few cylinders. Dragged it home, new set of plugs and apart from a sticky choke cable it ticks over like a Swiss watch. Clearly built back when Toyotas were good. I'm very happy with it

Here she is, just after giving it a bath. Spent most of the day just cleaning it, inside and out. Took it for a good long run too, runs like it was never out of service

Even here on Trademe there are a few pricey ones. It wasn't so long ago they were as cheap as chips here in NZ

Tidy. It looks to have original mud guards on it too.

Jeez Pointer half your luck mate.

    They are good vehicles.
Come into their own on the gravel, gearing etc works well then.
Can wade pretty deep and not much to dry out just drain the water through the floor bungs.
Have a BJ40 that I have spent a bit on.
