    Bent steering rack

How big of a drama is it to fix or replace on an AE92 corolla? Not sure exactly what the problem is but that's what's written on the failed WOF sheet. Looking at a 3 hundo corolla as a second car - want a cheap daily driver to save wear and tear on the cruiser doing town k's

No way the rack is bent. Prob meant steering rack end. $15-$25 plus gst trade price at Repco/BNT.

Sounds odd, I would have a wee discussion with the WOF issuing authority that carried out the inspection.

    Bent steering rack tie rods
    Bent steering rack mounts

-Are things I'm ok with, a bent rack itself is most likely part of a bigger picture, and it could be ugly

Bent would not work at all? Rack and pinion says it all, unless it's just tight and bound up?

    Bent steering rack

I held a WOF issuing authority cert for many years (AO9199)

A bent rack i would have thought was critical and i would have strongly urged the owner to stop driving the vehicle.

I've mentioned many things to people and strongly suggested it didn't get driven. No one ever listens. Or: "it passed like that last time". My mate is a low volume certifier, some of the shit he finds is jaw dropping, I'll try find a few examples

Aren't you supposed to be sipping on a pinacolada or something whilst checking out the talent at the poolside??
