, so this was the true NZ version in 750. Sometimes in silver but 95% of the time in this color. It was a bored out version of the 650 motor.

If you are into details it was hampered by a rear drum brake , had a very early version of anti dive. It was a weird mix. The XJ550 was a serious production race bike. The 650 never cut cut it in the 750cc class but was an excellent middle weight road bike. The 750 was a good bike but got lost. It didn't do anything the 650 didn't do and never really was a serious weapon in the 750 class.
