Quick question, has anyone had or got these on their ute, 265/65R17 supercat a/t tyres? I'm thinking about putting them on my triton, been offered decent price for a set at firestone. Whats everyone's experience with them?

haven't seen those ones but they are the budget end of the scale they are all a pretty much of a muchness at that level we sell tyres and I've got to try a few of the cheap brands on my Suzuki to be honest they would be more a road tyre I've tried federals goodrides and the best ones ive had in that price range would be nangkangs
Very budget tyres. Not really value for money imo.
Spend a bit more and get something decent
Grab the sets that are on T/M that come off new utes when mags etc are fitted. Have used them for years, get approx 30.000 km out of them used on metal and forestry roads, and paid between $220- $600 a set. Sometimes supplied with new rims also.
Thanks guys, Ive gone off those, would rather spend abit more, I'm going into town on Wednesday. Will call into firestone, beaurepaires to see what they can offer.
Been looking at a couple of options, dunlop grandtrek at5, Cooper at3lt, cooper at345.
Any other recommendations that I should look into?
Something in kumho or lookat the yokos
Coopers for the win, pricey though but will last twice as long.
If you want pretty good and cheap, its worth looking at Sportrak. We sell a heap through work and they are lasting well. I have a set of AT's on my Hilux as road tyres. I have a second set of muddies for hunting and 4wding
Ive got Yoko AT and am very pleased with them. Good in the wet on tarmac and Ive found that's often the downfall with AT's.Quote:

just got a 2017 ute with 20" city rims.
Came with Cooper ZEON LTZ 285/50/20 tires. Think they are a 70/30 Road/AT. Only done 2000km on them but so far better than I expected.
Quieter on road than I expected. Have not really tried them on a wet windy road but traction and braking was OK. Off road has only been wet grass and farm tracks. They do tend to hold mud but not stones.
Did note that the speedo under reads now as the factory spec was 255/50/20.
I will probably drop it back to a 265 or 275 as with some steering lock on the front tires don't have a lot of clearance to the inside guards.
NB my car runs Michelin Pilot Sport 4s so I have a reasonable expectation of a tire.
As above Supercat's are just a budget even though they try and market them as a mid range.
Cooper AT3 is the ducks nuts , amazing mileage and traction , if you can't quite stretch to the Cooper price then have a look at the Toyo OPAT. Whatever you do just make sure you go with a light truck construction , far better mileage and handling
As above Cooper AT3's for the win, in the two sets I've been through both have got @ 100k, with towing some heavy trailers long distances and plenty of forestry gravel roads. Never had a puncture or even a slow leak. I get the tyres rotated at every 15k service.
I'll back what everyone says about Cooper tyres. Had some bad experiences going through the 3 sisters on the Desert Road with Maxiss on, in the middle of winter. Went and changed them to Coopers, and put the Maxxis on the tandem trailer. Chalk and cheese. Got Coopers on all 3 Nissan patrols now:cool:
My brother in Law has a set of Coopers that he keeps getting punctures in, considering the minimal amount he's driven that particular vehicle he's either been very unlucky or those particular types aren't very punctures proof.
What model tyre was it? The at34s or the at3LTQuote:

Hyperdrive is a crock of shit , they blow the retail pricing to bits and then go and offer 40% off which brings them back down to what your local would probably be charging. Not having a go just informing you how those guys work

Bit the bullet, ended up getting some cooper at3 tyres, really good deal through Simmonds tyres in rotorua. Good bunch of guys in there, excellent service
