Good idea No.3 I knew of a guy that wanted to repack the exhaust on his rotary, He worked at a place that had 2 lathes turning stainless shafts all day so he used the swaff from them instead. After repacking it a quick test drive around the block was in order, Unfortunately he didn't think to wash the cutting fluid off it first. When he got back to the workshop the whole block was fully enveloped in a cloud of white smoke with people everywhere trying to find the source, luckily he'd burnt off the worst of the oil and nobody noticed the little remaining smoke coming from his tailpipe.

HAHAHA yeah, could imagine that being a slight issue - similar effect to a tank dropping a smokescreen! This little quad has been running on 25:1 I suspect, the exhaust is choked with oil and the expansion chamber must be near full with it. It won't be helping the noise, but it's slowly burning clear. The blue smoke when I fired the thing up for the first time, OMG. Raw oil dripping off the exhaust flange onto the rear axle and shock... Another reason I wasn't keen on the fibreglass packing (or maybe fireglass in that situation). Hopefully after a day or so of rolling around on 40:1 and it should run clear I hope.

The existing clutch has had a spring fail and jam the works up, also took out a piece of clutch. Oh well, another $13! Also noticed the front swingarm bushes are a little flogged, won't be helping the noise and rattle coming off it. Luckily I have the technology to fix that as well.
