Can anyone tell me what the NZDA group discount is on the interislander and how it compares to the motorcaravan assn. Planning a trip with some friends and both are an option for us.

NZDA quote their discount as 20% IIRC. I use it a often as I can if I can make a booking. I think Bluebridge is normally slightly cheaper than Interislander but once the 20% discount is factored both cost pretty much the same. Bluebridge boats are older I think and sailings not as frequent.Quote:

NZDA I think has a time of year when you can't use it - not sure about the motor caravan one though?
I think the motor caravan one is the best discount
There wasn't much in it between the two when I last checked, just the NZDA one seems to avoid the peak times.
I use Bluebridge, yes their boats are a bit older n slower, quite depressing being over taken in the cook straight lol
But I've always had great service & they have the cabin option which is great
Cabin option is awesome, I used to get discounted Interislander in a past life, but I still sailed bluebridge about 50% of the time for the cabinQuote:

The cabins are awesome to sleep and freshen up in in as well.
Interislander has a good adults only lounge which has food and drinks included.
Their boats haven't had a good record of finishing a crossing in recent times though....
I've always used bluebridge to be honest, I like the slightly shabby merchant marine supercargo feel but these two options are available this time. Might have to toss a coin.
