Looks nice but stuffed if I would take any of my vehicles on a beach. Note the rust on front fittings with head on shot of this vehicle. When last at Ahipara, motelier said he takes his vehicle up 90 mile beach but sells after 3 years. Salt penetrates the hidden spots and no amount of washing will remove it.
Seen a few other cool 4wd hybrids over the years like this one https://www.pinterest.nz/pin/415105290624766545/ there was a fb/ek holden wagon on a hilux chassis that I saw in Dunedin that was nicely done too.
Agree totally. Unless some numpty with no clue buys this car, I think he’s stuffed his chances with the video.
It’s one thing to drive it on a beach on hard packed sand (still not a good idea), but a totally different level of corrosion and nightmare driving it through salt water like that.
The company Prado I had in Aus was (cough cough) “occasionally” used for expeditionary fishing trips on southern W.A. coastal missions. The kind of trips that allegedly might could have possibly involved quite a lot of the salty wet stuff. Well I mean it was a mining company truck after all, you expect them to get a bit grubby. When I took the vehicle to the local suspension shop for a change of shocks and springs after three years of this, all the nuts were rusted onto the bolts and they had to cut everything off. I got a call to come in and have a look… The corrosion was unreal… So where have you been going with this vehicle Dave? he asks…
Just...say...the...word
FJ King at the Mount has a Toyota V8 4x4 with a 1940s GMC cab on it. Bloody awesome, but said you cannot get rid of the squeaks and rattles on an old body.
Boom, cough,cough,cough
