certainly says a lot about safety around motor vehicles doesnt it.One slipping tyre and heyho one less xmas present to buy."ah mate we's just havin a good time " all times are good till some poor bastard gets hurt or killed.
There are quite a number of people who donate time trapping clearing weeds from riverbeds to help try and save these birds, both the dotterel and black fronted tern numbers are in decline... these "4wd enthusiasts" need prosecuting.
Honestly DOC should just enforce their own bloody rules and slap these idiots all with a $20,000+ fine.
Its idiots like this that ruin it for the rest of us and give the people who want to ban everything the ammunition they need.
You never see a cop car sitting at any entry or exit of the river when these clowns decide to rejoin traffic after a good old 12pk down at the river either.
DOC have come out and said their rangers didn't feel safe trying to tame these idiots.
One DOC ranger sent down to enforce - that was the first mistake having being informed what was happening on the river bed. I am involved in a predator trapping programme in Canterbury - these guys are never a great look for future 4wd access and appears that a number of them belong to a 4wd FB forum. Such muppets...
Standard fuckwits-in-flat-peaks stuff
Identify your target beyond all doubt
Any one know what the DOC is going to do? Use number plate in survalliance photos to track down and impound the said 4WDs would be a good way to do it.
