Just cleaned my ute (ford courier 4x4)yesterday notice both cv boots are rooted , oil / Grease spraying under Guards . Any one got a temp fix up as I can't get it fixed till 6 th jan ? . Don't want get oil in brakes ?

Cut a 10" section out of a car tyre inner tube and then cut through so you have a long 10" wide bandage. Wrap it around the CV so it overlaps quite a bit and fix firmly to the shaft and outer end with cable ties. Saw the Hamster do it on Top Gear. Worked fine.:thumbsup:
You can buy cv boots that split in half so you don't have to pull it all apart to fit them.... I don't know how long they last but they are a good temp fix....
To save them in the future get some alloy gards made up and it will save them form getting shredded on plants when 4 wheel driving.
As a mechanic I wouldn't worry, as long as the disc has got a backing plate you shouldn't get grease on em, if it was easy to get grease on the brakes 90% of the vehicles in gizzy wouldn't stop
