Diesels don't run on water I told him........

Friday arvo a while back -"Going Tahr hunting" says the boy, "wanna come?" - nahh says dad, "been raining the last couple of days and forecast is for showers, they'll keep the river topped up, best stay at home, I'll come next weekend". "Losing your nerve in your old age!" chortles the boy "See ya when we get back Monday"

"Telling you now, I know that river, leave it till next weekend" - "We'll be all good, been up there a thousand times" - "Yeah, with me doing the driving and you not paying attention, take my chain block and tow straps and ground anchors, ok"? - "ok, but we won't need them"

Sunday.......... sees me dragging a car trailer to the Macauly River to carry out a rescue
Name: The boy drowns his truck.jpg

Not even that deep...... what happened ?
Also pointing upstream in that swift water is asking for trouble in my opinion, I always try to cross pointing diagonally down stream if it looks a bit sketchy

At least you did the rescue more than some parents/mates would have done.

Couldn't resist the opportunity to have the boy stuck in my truck for several hrs listening to how many different ways I can find to say "I told you so"!

Young fellahs aye? They've gotta learn the hard way. I guess we all did.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

I had to pull out a modified Navara with a snorkel, and all of the gears. Turns out they had the ECU under the seat, rather than above the water line.
